We had a grand opening on Apand we are hiƫng the ground running providing full force services the Brownsville area. It is centrally located making it easily accessible for our current foster parents and for the many future foster parents this office will recruit. Its locaƟon also places the agency in line to have life long associaƟon with the surrounding businesses as the liƩle square is also home to local businesses. The Brownsville office is open for business. An AWFC Case Manager, Irma, was recently hired and has jumped in with both feet to help in making this a successful venture! More on this on page 26. Maricela Medrano, AWFC Regional Director, is excited about expanding our presence in the Valley. This will be helpful to our parents in this area and hopefully new foster homes can be recruited to allow children from that area to stay closer to their homes. We are currently serving a number of foster homes and children in this area. In a cauƟous climate with all the changes in Texas foster care, AWFC is stepping out and opening a new office in Brownsville.
